Audi Mission Viejo sends four golfers to national Audi quattro Cup golf tournament

Audi Mission Viejo has completed its qualifying tournaments for the national Audi quattro Cup golf tournament next month at Pebble Beach, sending four local golfers to the national competition with the hope of earning a trip to the international Audi quattro Cup in South Africa.

Former neighbors Steve Norby and Brian Ducharme earned the victory at Mission Viejo Country Club, while friends Michael Slessinger and Josh Carroll took top marks at El Niguel Country Club.

“To have the opportunity to play Pebble Beach is really once in a lifetime,” said Norby. “This whole thing is almost an out of body experience!”

“We can’t believe it,” agreed Slessinger. “It really is a dream come true!”

The 2012 Audi quattro Cup U.S. Final will be staged over two unforgettable days along the rugged coastline of the Pacific Ocean at the unrivaled Pebble Beach Resorts. Though the Pebble Beach name alone is instantly recognized worldwide, its reputation as the site of golf’s most memorable performances – from Tiger Woods’ 15-shot rout in the 2000 US Open to Graeme McDowell’s breakthrough major championship win in 2010 – made it the logical choice as the spot for Audi’s national showdown. Audi Mission Viejo is proud to send four golfers to this prestigious event.

“The Audi quattro Cup immerses golfers in the absolute best of the brand,” said Audi Mission Viejo Executive Director Matthew Gunderson. “Audi Mission Viejo is proud to bring this unique experience to our community and be part of something that really was created to celebrate the excitement of amateur golf.”

The Audi quattro Cup has grown from its origins in 1991 as a national tournament organized by German Audi dealers. In 2011, Audi dealers from 52 different countries worldwide organised a total of 785 tournaments and over 90,000 amateur golfers participated, with over one million golfers taking part in Audi quattro Cup tournaments during the last 20 years. The winners of the US Audi quattro Cup will compete at the Audi quattro Cup World Final at Arabella Golf Club near Cape Town, South Africa.

Audi Mission Viejo is the last family-owned Audi dealer in South Orange County, with a commanding inventory of new and Audi Certified Pre-Owned vehicles.
